Minister BUMN Erick Thohir open voice regarding the polemic of the credit card limit of Rp. 30 billion which was mentioned by the President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero) Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok. According to him, the use of credit cards is indeed needed in the non-cash era.cashless) like now.
“Sometimes we need that. Moreover, this era is cashless. Now, I’m sorry, I just didn’t bring my wallet, I didn’t bring money cash, era cashless,” said Erick, quoted from Detik.com, Tuesday (6/7).
He ensures the use of credit cards is not for personal gain. Credit cards can only be used for company operations.
“The card is sometimes needed for operations, not for personal use,” explained Erick.
Erick said that a commissioner like Ahok is only natural to check all company facilities, including credit cards. This is part of the duties of the commissioners who oversee the performance of the directors.
“I think it’s like this, it’s a commissioner’s job to oversee the performance of the board of directors. I think it’s legal and this is part of the check and balance,” explained Eric.
Ahok dismantled the credit card facilities of Pertamina’s directors and commissioners. For himself, he admitted to getting a credit card facility with a limit of Rp. 30 billion.
However, currently Pertamina has removed the facility. The write-off was carried out at the general meeting of shareholders (GMS) on Monday (14/6).
After the excitement about the Pertamina credit card facility which has a limit of Rp. 30 billion for Ahok, documents related to the limit of Pertamina’s super group credit card of Rp. 420 billion were leaked to the public.
On this matter, Ahok said that until now he had never received the document directly from the board of directors.
“We haven’t received it from the board of directors. We have never been informed about this group limit,” he said when contacted CNNIndonesia.com, Tuesday (29/6).
Nevertheless, he ensured that the Rp420 billion ceiling was intended for Pertamina’s senior officials, excluding the company’s children and grandchildren.
“That includes managers and others from the company, excluding the company’s children and grandchildren,” he explained.
