Eighteen people immigrants, four of them minors, have been intercepted this Monday after reaching the cove Uncle Ximo from Benidorm aboard a boat of the patera type, as confirmed by the Red Cross and also police sources.
These people have been located around 8:50 am in the area of La Torre de Les Caletes after disembarking in the cove. The group of immigrants has become available to the National Police for their transfer to the port of Alicante, where they will be subjected to interviews and a PCR test to rule out possible cases of covid-19.
This is the second boat of this type to be located on the Alicante coast in less than 24 hours. Last Sunday another boat was intercepted in La Fosa de Calp beach, in this case with eleven immigrants, all men, of whom three said they were minors. They were also transferred to the port of Alicante to carry out anticovid tests.
