National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo ask the governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan immediately issue a Worker Registration Certificate (STRP) for people who want to pass the isolation post during the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) Emergency.
“So then there will be a decision, perhaps from the Governor, or the Manpower Office to immediately issue this (employment certificate). So that there are no polemics in the field which then cause new problems,” Listyo said in a virtual press conference, Monday (5/7). ).
Listyo said there are still many people who are confused whether they work in essential, critical or non-essential sectors. This causes long bottlenecks at a number of insulation points.
According to him, if this certificate is not published, the officers will be overwhelmed in guarding the blocking post. In addition, a long debate between officers and the public is inevitable.
“As long as it’s not there, sir, there will be debates in the field. And then what happens is a long crowd because there are debates,” he said.
Previously, Anies said the DKI Provincial Government imposed a Worker Registration Certificate (STRP) for employees in essential and critical sectors. The letter is a requirement for workers who want to enter Jakarta.
According to Anies, this step is also one of the efforts of the DKI Provincial Government to suppress community mobility during the Emergency PPKM which will last until July 20. This letter was submitted by essential and critical sector companies.
Since Saturday (3/7) the government has implemented Emergency PPKM as an effort to prevent a spike in Covid-19. In the rules, offices or companies that work in essential or critical sectors can operate with a capacity limit of 50 percent.
Meanwhile, for sectors outside of that, it is mandatory to apply the rules of working from home or working from home work from home 100 percent.
To support this policy, the police have made partitions at 63 points. A total of 28 points are located on city limits and toll roads, 21 points prone to violations, and 14 mobility control points. The police then increased the isolation posts to 72 points.
However, in practice, the police are unable to limit community mobility. In the first week of Emergency PPKM, this blockage caused congestion in a number of roads.
