A woman and a boy were injured on a bobsled track in Lipno

“The boy was apparently driving much faster in the metal trough of the track than the forty-three-year-old. He crashed into it from behind and both suffered serious spinal and head injuries as a result, “said Petr Hladík, a member of the Šumava Mountain Service who intervened on Monday, adding that rescuers treated both injured people with the assistance of other willing visitors to the complex.

“We put on their neck collars, fixed them in vacuum mattresses and prepared them for transport,” the rescuer continued.

“We both then transferred about a hundred meters to the ambulances and took them to the heliport. Here we transferred the woman to a helicopter and the boy to an ambulance, “added Hladík.

According to the ambulance, the woman was airlifted by air to the trauma center of the České Budějovice hospital with suspicion of head and musculoskeletal injuries. The boy was taken to the same hospital by ambulance.
