Trifonov: The vote in Blagoevgrad so concretes GERB that we did not see them in the runoff

“Before and after the national referendum on November 6, 2016, various sociologists, political scientists and omniscients explained how the majority system will cement GERB in two rounds. They also explained how the majority system would win the elections by Tsenkochokovtsi. two rounds that concreted GERB in such a way that we didn’t even see them in the runoff. “

This is what the leader of “There is such a people” Slavi Trifonov wrote in his Facebook profile on the occasion of Ilko Stoyanov’s victory in the mayoral elections in Blagoevgrad.

“I did not see Blagoevgrad residents elect someone like Tsenko Chokov, who kidnaps and beats people. On the contrary, Blagoevgrad residents elected a worthy lawyer as mayor – Ilko Stoyanov, nominated by a political party without powerful structures, founded only a year ago,” Trifonov said. and add:

“And so the inhabitants of this wonderful Bulgarian city have practically proved that they are not interested in the forecasts of sociologists, political scientists and all-rounders.”

A day earlier it became clear that Ilko Stoyanov won the mayoral election in Blagoevgrad. 57.08% of the voters voted for the candidate of the party “There is such a people”.

His opponent, the independent candidate Rumen Tomov, supported by the BSP, is supported by 40.07% of voters. His powers as mayor were terminated early – which is why the by-elections were held.

In the first round Ilko Stoyanov won with 1209 votes – 35.32% against 28.65% for Tomov.

In the runoff, the difference between the two increased to about 2,000 votes.
