– Those are the words of a Godset supporter – VG

DRAMMEN (VG) (Strømsgodset – Vålerenga 1–1) Fred Friday glued the ball to the crossbar, but it did not hold to three points anyway.

Published:

– We have the ball the most and have more than twice as many corners as them. A draw is fine. We were tired and have a day less rest than them, says Fagermo to VG.

– To say that Godset was closest to victory is directly wrong, says Vålerenga coach Dag-Eilev Fagermo to Discovery + and sends a small stab at Kenneth Fredheim.

The Eurosport commentator thought after the match that Strømsgodset was closest to victory, something Fagermo reacted strongly to:

– Those are the words of a Godset supporter.

Fredheim was very surprised when he heard Fagermo’s statement.

– He only hears 45 seconds of a longer reasoning, and then he thinks that I believe that Godset should have won, Fredheim says to VG and continues:

– I have the greatest respect for him, I was very surprised. That was a strange thing to say in disappointment.

– Will there still be a good tone between you in the future?

– Well, I can not imagine anything else. We have already sent each other a couple of text messages, so it’s going just fine.

After 19 minutes, Friday were awarded a free kick. He looked away and found free space in the farthest corner, and could hardly have hit better.

The striker himself thought it was a completely normal day at work.

– It is a common goal. I saw where the goalkeeper stood and I saw the angle where I had to finish, Fred Friday told Discovery during the break.

– You said during the break that it was a common goal? asks VG.

– Yes. It’s a common tip, there’s nothing special about it. I’m training for it, so then I have to show it in the match, Friday replied with a smile.

– It’s good that he means it, because then more can come, says Godset coach Håkon Wibe-Lund with a big smile to VG.

Strømsgodset dominated before the break and Vålerenga struggled to make the game flow. After the break, a completely different Vålerenga team came on the field.

– We also have some good chances in the second round. But that kind of thing happens, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, says the striker.

Ten minutes into the round, goal scorer Henrik Udahl was sent alone with the goalkeeper, but Godset stopper Ari Leifsson came to the rescue and put in a tackle at the last minute.

Halfway through the half, Osame Sahraoui kept up with a bit of magic in a classic way. He tipped the ball nicely over the defense and to Tobias Christensen.

Sørlendingen’s first finish was saved by Viljar Myhra, but on the return Henrik Bjørdal hammered in the equalizer.

– It’s me who must be the alpha male now that Aron (Dønnum) is out, Bjørdal jokes.

At the very end of the match, Fred Friday nodded the ball into the net. The Godset fans cheered, but the assistant referee was up with the flag and the score was canceled for offside.

– We can be ok happy. They have been good here at home, so it’s all right, says Vålerenga player Jonathan Tollås Nation to VG.

Strømsgodset is still undefeated at home this season. Vålerenga’s one point means that there are six points up to league leader Molde, who lost 0-1 away against Sarpsborg 08 on Sunday night.

– I think we were both closest and good in what we are doing today. It is fantastic to be at Marienlyst and it is wonderful to experience this Strømsgodset, says Wibe-Lund and continues:

– We will continue to believe what we will do in the long run. But of course we want better results away from home.
