Recently, Apple has realized that it can no longer just overlook the competing Android operating system. At a development conference, WWDC, for example, introduced FaceTime support for Android, but earned a lot of criticism for the way a “regular Android phone” was portrayed. Apple has taken the trouble to make a competitor look much less attractive than its own phones.
This practice is nothing new for Apple. The giant from Cupert used the older Pixel 2 in the screenshots from the operation of the Beats application and the transition to iOS For safety, he chose HTC from 2014. In a new ad for Beats Studio Buds, however, Apple surpassed it. The model in the photo no longer uses an old-fashioned telephone, but the latest one Samsung Galaxy S21.
Although it doesn’t seem like it, it’s quite a big deal for Apple. For many years, the California company has been trying to portray its competitors in the worst possible light. In this case, however, it is not a “insight” but rather a pragmatic decision. Beats Studio Buds headphones cost $ 150 (approximately CZK 3,200) and use Fast Pair technology for pairing. If Apple used an older Android phone in the ad, the promotional image could sound negative for its headphones.
