A man who was in the same tour has been flown to a hospital in Switzerland where he is receiving treatment for hypothermia and frostbite.
The three were hiking in the Monte Rosa massif in the Valais Alps in Switzerland, where the highest peak, the Dufourspitze, is over 4,630 meters high. They were reported missing this weekend.
On Saturday, they were found by rescue crews on a slightly lower mountain peak on the Italian side of the border and transported to a nearby cabin. Attempts were made to resuscitate the two women, but to no avail.
