Travelers who want to go to Suriname and have already been fully vaccinated are welcome in Suriname two weeks after their last shot. They don’t have to be quarantined either. The Surinamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Albert Ramdin confirmed this during a press conference on Saturday.
The measure was already announced on Friday: Fully vaccinated people do not need permission to travel to Suriname and are not bound by the quarantine obligation.
The airlines have no restrictions on fully vaccinated people, but they do have a control and enforcement obligation. The documents required for this are proof of full vaccination, a negative PCR and valid travel documents.
This new rule may lead to more flights and more income for Suriname.
People who have not been vaccinated or who have only had one shot are only welcome if they permission from the Surinamese government have to travel to the country. They receive this permission if they are residents of Suriname or are indispensable because of their profession. They are subject to a quarantine obligation of seven days as soon as they arrive in Suriname.
For fully vaccinated people who want to travel from Suriname, the airlines and target group are bound by the rules of the country they are traveling to.
