Suara.com – CEO Qualcomm Cristiano Amon plans to make advanced chipsets for laptop devices.
He believes this new chipset can compete with Intel processors up to Apple’s M1.
Quotes Tomsguide, Sunday (4/7/2021), this plan began with the acquisition of Qualcomm to Nuvia company worth US$1.4 billion or Rp. 20.2 trillion.
Nuvia itself is a startup company founded by three former Apple technicians who used to be chipmakers.

The plan, Qualcomm will launch a special chip laptop made by Nuvia starting next year. It is hoped that the chip can beat Apple and Intel.
Previously, Qualcomm also presented a PC-specific chip in collaboration with ARM. According to him, this is a big change for the strategy going forward.
“We need to have leading-edge performance for battery-powered devices,” said Amon.
If Arm, he added, had been in a relationship for years, it ended up developing a CPU better than it could build on its own.
“We always have the option of getting a license from Arm,” he said.
