Compared to neighboring countries, Latvia has the lowest number of residents who make any investments at all – 49% of respondents note that they invest money somewhere. The majority (24%) invest in private pension funds. In second place is savings insurance, which is chosen by 16% of respondents, and in third place – real estate, which is chosen by 11% of respondents.
Of those Latvians who make investments, 60% do it once a month. Almost half of them invest from 20 to 50 euros every month, about 20% – up to 20 euros and the same amount – from 50 to 100 euros. Others can afford to invest more than 100 euros per month.
Estonians are the most active investors, with 59% of the investment experience there. About a third prefer real estate. In second place are private pension funds, chosen by 26% of respondents, and in third place – shares, in which 18% of respondents invest.
In Estonia, only a third of investors invest every month, but 40% do so less than once a year. About a third of the month is spent on investments from 20 to 50 euros, 26% – from 50 to 100 euros, 14% – from 100 to 200 euros and 23% – more than 200 euros.
In Lithuania, where 52% of the population invests, real estate is as popular as private pension funds and endowment life insurance – about 17-18% of respondents invest in each of these instruments. 36% of investors invest on a monthly basis and most of them (35%) invest between 20 and 50 euros. 30% invest from 50 to 100 euros, and 17% – from 100 to 200 euros.
