Many kilometers of columns and cars soaring in the greatest steam around the toll gates. These are exactly the moments that can really make the beginning of a holiday uncomfortable. Some Czechs also had to wait for long hours at the Hungarian-Croatian border crossing Letenye-Goričan on Saturday.
“The only delay that occurred was on the border of Hungary and Croatia, where we stayed in the column for two hours. It took us a long time, but when we saw families with children, we sincerely regretted them,” described Czech tourist Tereza Ouzká.
Long columns were also formed at the Slovenian-Croatian crossings. In some places, crossing the border took two hours. The reason is also the tightening of conditions for entry into the country. Newly, Croats require a negative coronavirus test, confirmation of accommodation and declaration of entry.
The waiting time was shortened only on Saturday afternoon. Nevertheless, according to information from the Croatian Automobile Club, drivers did not avoid the columns.
For swimming on the Adriatic, tourists had to wait on the Swiss A2 motorway, one of the main arteries in the direction of Italy. A seven-kilometer column formed in front of the Gotthard Tunnel.
