The men are on the highway at night with long guns. The police asked them to lay down their weapons, whereupon they took refuge in a forest. The residents of the area are instructed not to go outside.

EA group of heavily armed men in the United States had an hour-long argument with the police. Police said eleven suspects were arrested on Saturday in the state of Michigan. The suspects surrendered after the police tightened their siege ring with the help of armored vehicles.
The argument began at 2:00 a.m. (local time) on Interstate 95, the police reported. Two cars stopped, apparently after they ran out of fuel.
Police chief Christopher Mason said at least some of the suspects were wearing military-style clothing and had long guns and pistols with them. “You can imagine eleven armed people with long guns slung around their necks on an interstate highway at two in the morning are sure to wake up worries and it’s not in accordance with the gun laws we have in Massachusetts.” They didn’t have a gun license and one had a different view of the law.

The men refused to lay down their weapons or to follow the instructions of the authorities, the police said. They said they belonged to a group “that does not recognize our laws” and that they cut into a wooded area. The self-proclaimed leader of the group said they were not against the government, Mason said. He thinks the future investigation will provide insight into the motivation and ideology of men.
The residents of Wakefield and Reading were instructed not to go outside. The order was later canceled.
