After weeks of decrease in the number of corona infections is breaking with that trend in recent days. RIVM reported 1146 new corona infections today. For comparison, last Saturday there were 429. It is still difficult to say what caused the increase.
Since the relaxations came into effect on June 26, the number of corona infections has risen by almost 14 percent. “But the daily corona figures actually offer relatively little explanation, such as why they are rising,” says editor Joost Schellevis, who follows the corona figures.
