The renovation
In 2015 is private to thoroughly refurbish the Binnenhof complex in one go. The historic building is a series of buildings from different historical periods. The fire risk is high and the buildings suffer from major defects. In 2019, a fierce argument arose about the renovation plans. The architects recruited for the Senate and House of Representatives had to leave because of their proposals, which were judged to be too drastic.
