Slovakia sold the scandalous batch of Sputnik V to the Russian Federation

We are talking about 160 thousand doses of coronavirus vaccine out of the 200 thousand that Slovakia purchased from Russia in March.

Slovakia sold to Russia a batch of Sputnik V COVID vaccine purchased in March. About it informs Slovak edition Denník N on Friday, 2 July.

We are talking about 160 thousand doses of the drug out of 200 thousand delivered. The Russian side bought the vaccine at the same price at which it was sold to Slovakia – $ 9.95 per dose.

“According to the contract, the agreed period for payment of the agreed price is 20 working days from the date of delivery,” said Zuzana Eliashova, press secretary of the Ministry of Health of Slovakia.

The official added that the batch of the Russian vaccine is already outside the country. In Slovakia, only the number of Sputnik V doses that are needed for the second vaccination with this drug remain. At the same time, about 10.5 thousand people were vaccinated with the first dose of Sputnik V in the country.

“There are about 8 thousand people on the waiting list for vaccination,” the spokeswoman summed up.

As you know, the Prime Minister of Slovakia Igor Matovich resigned because of the Sputnik V vaccine. The government crisis in the country began after the prime minister announced his intention to purchase a Russian vaccine, despite the fact that the drug did not receive approval from the European and local regulators.

In turn, Russia demanded from Slovakia return the batch of Sputnik V vaccine.
