The Bataclan opened in 1865 and has been one of the most striking halls in Paris for years. The concert hall has “reflected the Parisian culture and way of life for 150 years”, according to the Bataclan himself. On the evening of November 13, 2015, eight jihadists committed attacks in various places in Paris, acting on behalf of the terrorist group IS. The attacks killed 129 people and injured 350. One attacker was shot dead by the police, the other two blew themselves up. A Belgian member of the terror group managed to escape and was arrested in Brussels only months later.
