From July 2 to 4, the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) in Zacatecas will carry out extra actions of consultations and medical attention on the weekend, as part of the Fourth National Health Day for the Recovery of Ordinary Services.
The foregoing, within the framework of the strategy “100 days to move the IMSS”, in which the medical units at the three levels of care concentrate the provision of services to patients. So far, the IMSS in Zacatecas has performed in the medical units: 195,694 family medicine consultations, 30,279 specialty consultations, 29,247 detections of systemic arterial hypertension and diabetes mellitus, and 2,414 surgeries.
This institutional effort will have the support of directive medical personnel, resident doctors of different specialties, nursing, and a multidisciplinary team, with the aim of joining actions to recover services.
The IMSS Second Level Medical Care Coordination in the entity announced that the objective is to carry out extraordinary actions to improve productivity in medical care, diminished by the COVID-19 pandemic.
For the fourth day, the participation of the General Zone Hospitals (HGZ) No. 1 of Zacatecas and No. 2 of Fresnillo is contemplated, for which he planned the care in Outpatient Specialties of Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Urology, Psychiatry and Traumatology.
Regarding surgical interventions, outpatient procedures of various specialties will be performed on patients who are on the waiting list, who were informed in advance.
Likewise, the coordination of First Level Medical Attention, informed that in this day the Family Medicine Units (UMF) No, 1 and No. 57 of Zacatecas will participate; No. 3 and No. 4 of Guadalupe, and No. 55 of Fresnillo, with actions focused on health care for women and men.
Care will be given to both beneficiaries who have a prior appointment, as well as those who attend spontaneously, in the Family Medicine consultation services, breast cancer detections by physical examination and mammography, cervical cancer and integrated preventive care.
The hours of operation will be from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. all three days.
In the case of UMF No. 55, on Saturday 3, a Health Fair will also be held, where the same services will be provided in different modules and assessment by the Stomatology area.
Medical care will be carried out under a strict safety and hygiene protocol for the protection of patients, as well as the institutional personnel assigned to the hospital units.
It is important that the assistants follow hygiene measures, such as the mandatory and correct use of face masks, covering nose and mouth, applying 70 percent alcohol gel upon entry and maintaining a healthy distance of 1.5 meters.
