Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Recent research journals report claims that brain humans can independently measure episodic movements. This finding was reported by the researcher French and the Netherlands, in a new study published Monday 28 June 2021 in Journal of Neuroscience.
“Brain we have an internal or inherent flow of time, which is not driven by something happening in the outside world,” neuroscientist and lead author of the study, Leila Reddy told Vice. He claims that his team’s discovery is evidence of the human mind’s “mental time travel” ability.
According to reports from New York Post on Friday (2/6/2021), Reddy and his team studied the brains of people with epilepsy who already needed invasive electrode implants in their brains regardless of the study. They make these efforts to obtain proof of concepts that are difficult to translate.
“These patients have severe drug-resistant epilepsy and are awaiting surgery,” Reddy told Vice who are research participants.
Reddy explained that “part of the pre-surgical procedure involves implanting electrodes in the brain to monitor seizure activity. Once the electrodes are inserted into the brain” brain, we asked patients if they would be willing to participate in a short experiment for us and we were able to record single neurons to test different hypotheses.”
