PUTTING In Putten, 87.4 percent of two-year-old children have been vaccinated this year with all vaccinations from the National Immunization Programme. That is slightly lower than the 90.5 percent in 2020.
That appears from Numbers which the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) published on Thursday. The National Immunization Program includes shots against diseases such as whooping cough, measles and meningococci.
5.9 percent of the two-year-olds in Putten received no vaccinations this year. That is a decrease compared to the 3.3 percent in 2020. The figures in Putten for the individual vaccinations are as follows:
DKTP: 90.9 (92.6 in 2020) – vaccination that protects against four infectious diseases: diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus and polio. The vaccination is given to children from 6 to 9 weeks old.
Hib: 92.1 (93.8 in 2020) – vaccination against the HiB bacteria. Children are vaccinated from 6 weeks of age and the vaccinations are repeated at 3, 4 and 11 months.
BMR: 89.8 (94.2 in 2020) – vaccination that protects against mumps, measles and rubella. Children aged 14 months receive this vaccination.
Meningococci: 89.8 (93.8 in 2020) – vaccination against the meningococcal C bacteria given to children 14 months old.
Pneumococci: 91.3 (93.4 in 2020) – vaccination against pneumococci, which is given three times. Children receive their first pneumococcal vaccination when they are between 6 and 9 weeks old.
Hepatitis B: 90,9 (92,1 in 2020)
GIRLS According to the RIVM, the percentage of 14-year-old girls in Putten who have been vaccinated against HPV this year is 45.5 (girls born in 2006). In 2020, that percentage was 48.6 (girls born in 2005). HPV is a virus that can cause cervical cancer, among other things.
SLIGHT INCREASE Nationally, the share of fully vaccinated two-year-olds rose slightly. Of the children born in 2018, 91.3 percent received all vaccinations from the National Immunization Program this year. In 2020 this was 90.8 percent. Nationally, about four in a hundred children have not been vaccinated against any disease from the National Vaccination Programme.
According to the RIVM, the corona measures seem to have had little effect on the number of children who have been vaccinated.
