As promised, Pukkelpop is today releasing a whole host of names for the planned edition from 19 to 22 August. With acts such as Future, Editors, Liam Gallagher, Caribou and Anne-Marie, it is quite international. Big Belgian names such as dEUS, Netsky, 2manydj’s and Whispering Sons are of course also included.

That we should not expect great American artists was already made clear by organizer Chokri Mahassine. The uncertainty of going to Europe for major tours with guaranteed performances in various countries is still far too great. Rapper Future and dj Marshmello take the plunge anyway.
From Britain come acts like Editors, Liam Gallagher, Sam Fender, Anne Marie on Idles. The big Belgian names are also present at the first edition since the corona crisis: do you expect, among others, Balthazar, Netsky, Zwangere Guy, 2manydj’s, Charlotte De Witte, God on Whispering Sons.
There will certainly be dancing: with, among others Boys Noize, Helena Hauff,Jamie XX, Cologne, Nina Kraviz, Caribou, Peggy Gou on Underworld Pukkelpop has a nice electronic poster. The Nigerian Superstar Burna Boy also signs present, just like grime artists Skepta on Slowthai.
Hyped bands from across the pond als Dry Cleaning, Inhaler, Squid, Working Men’s Club, Beabadoobee on Arlo Parks who released their debut album during the corona crisis can finally prove their worth on stage. We will definitely see the distance rules fall in moshpits at Shame on Viagra Boys. Other notable names for indie lovers are Lianne La Havas, Little Dragon, Shame, on Kelly Lee Owens.

85 percent tickets sold
The tickets for the only planned major festival in Belgium in this bizarre corona year went on sale exceptionally this year without even a single artist being announced. That didn’t stop fans. The festival hunger is clearly great. On day one, 70 percent of the combis went out. Meanwhile, they report to Pukkelpop, the counter is at 85 percent. Pukkelpop already announced that it does not want to work with mouth masks and distance rules, but in the accompanying press release the organization assures that it will be a ‘safety first’ edition, with ‘modalities and protocols’. 66,000 festival goers are expected.
Pukkelpop takes place from 19 to 22 August. A day ticket costs 105 euros, a combi ticket 215 euros.
