Kim said the officials “caused a serious incident that triggered a major crisis for the safety of the country and the people.” However, KCNA did not elaborate further on the incident in question.
North Korea has not reported a single case of Covid-19 since the pandemic hit the world. However, North Korea’s economic condition is claimed to have been affected by the tightening of rules to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 in various countries.
Several weeks ago, Kim acknowledged that North Korea was experiencing a food crisis, a claim that rarely comes from the mouth of a North Korean leader.
