The police found a cardboard box with 1 million euros in cash in a truck on Friday. Two suspects, who were in the truck, were arrested.
The money was found during a check on the A58 near Oirschot. Because the 57-year-old driver from Boxtel was unable to provide a logical explanation for how he arrived at this amount, the money was taken.
The man has been arrested and is suspected of money laundering and drug trafficking. A 55-year-old Rotterdammer was also in the truck. Police are still investigating his role. A police spokesman tells Broadcasting Brabant that he may have nothing to do with the case.
An ongoing case put the police on the track of the man from Boxtel. Both men have been released after questioning pending the results of further investigations.
