After a 10-week decline, cases rose again
The 10-week decline in new coronavirus cases in Europe is over, and a new wave of pandemics is inevitable if citizens and legislators are not disciplined. This was said by the director of the World Health Organization (WHO) for Europe Hans Kluge.
Assoc. Prof. Kunchev: The forecast for a new wave is not exaggerated
Last week, the number of new infections rose by 10%, thanks to more public events, travel and gatherings, as well as easing restrictions, Kluge said at a briefing.
“This is happening in the context of the rapidly changing situation, against the background of the new alarming Delta option and in a region where, despite the great efforts of the countries, millions of people have remained unvaccinated,” said the director of WHO Europe.
“There will be a new wave in the region of Europe if we do not remain disciplined,” Kluge warned.
