The investigation led by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance focused on undue advantages that Trump Organization executives, including its chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg, allegedly received, sources with knowledge of the matter said in the past. the question.

Allen Weisselberg planned to hand himself over to authorities on Thursday morning, the source said.

Donald Trump’s lawyer told Reuters on Monday that prosecutors had suggested the charges would relate to tax benefits and that the former US president would not be personally targeted.

“It will be their first setback,” Ronald Fischetti said of prosecutors. He added that he was informed last week by prosecutors that they were continuing their investigation.

A lawyer for Allen Weisselberg declined a request for comment, as did the services of Cyrus Vance.
