Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
President Xi Jinping celebrating the centenary of the Communist Party China stood up saying that no country could bully the Bamboo Curtain country anymore.
“China’s era of being bullied and victimized is over forever,” Xi said to cheers of Chinese Communist Party supporters who gathered in Tiananmen Square on Thursday (1/7) morning.
He then said, “Whoever dares to do that [merundung China], his head will bleed from being smashed against the Great Wall forged with steel by the 1.4 billion Chinese citizens.”
As reported Reuters, Xi ensured that China, on the other hand, would also not bully other countries.
During the celebration, Xi also stated that during its 100 years of existence, the Chinese Communist Party has also gone through “great reforms so that China enters an irreversible historical moment.”
Xi sought to prove the strength of the Chinese Communist Party with a massive celebration that saw thousands of singers and members perform marching band.
However, unlike usual, the celebration of the anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party this time was not enlivened by a military parade due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, the event still opened with a parade of helicopters forming the formation of 100 numbers and 100 gun shots, a symbol of the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party.
Established on July 23, 1921, the Chinese Communist Party came to power in the Bamboo Curtain State in 1949 under Mao Zedong.
Initially, the Chinese Communist Party only recruited farmers and laborers. Later, however, the party evolved, embracing the market and entrepreneurship under “socialism with Chinese characteristics” while maintaining the Lenin-style authoritarian system.
Eventually, the Chinese Communist Party grew as one of the greatest political forces in the world. In 2020, they managed to recruit 2.43 million new members, the biggest increase since Xi took office in 2013.
With these additions, the Chinese Communist Party now has 95.15 million members. Some observers consider this number to show the strength of the Chinese Communist Party that has been forged through war, famine, and recently pressure from Western countries under US influence.
