After a relatively looser day, during which the cyclists completed only a 27-kilometer time trial, they will return to full armor on Thursday. The peloton awaits a relatively simple flat stage divided as if into two sections – the first part will be flat, the second slightly wavy.

After the start in the French city of Tours, cyclists will set off on a mostly flat route, which will be disturbed only by two smaller hills, which should not affect the integrity of the peloton. The only diversification will be a really beautiful country through which they will pass.
After less than 73 kilometers, the riders will reach the only rated ascent of the day on the Côte De Saint-Aignan. This hill is included in the fourth category and the length of 2.9 km with an average slope of 2.9% should not be a difficult obstacle for anyone.
From this moment, however, the road will be slightly undulating. After 104 kilometers, a spurt bonus is ready for fast riders, from where it will basically fight only for the most advantageous position before the finish. It should be finished again in a mass sprint, so the winner will be decided by the details. The finish line is about 1.6 kilometers, so the fight for the stage laurel will probably be dramatic until the last second.

If nothing unpredictable happens, then Peter Sagan should not be missing from the lead. With a little luck, he could achieve victory, but it is questionable what physical form he will be in after Monday’s fall. In any case, the native of Žilina is one of the favorites of the stage and if he maintains speed and a good position on the finish line, he will have very good cards in his hands.
