A special program of the International Improvisation, Jazz and Global Music Festival “Riga Rhythms 2021” will take place in the music house “Daile” from July 1 to 3, where concerts of high-quality Latvian and Lithuanian jazz artists will be offered.
These events in the music house “Daile” will be “musical evenings for music gourmets: spectators will be at the tables and will be able to enjoy quality and high-quality music, sipping good wine or just having a good time with other music lovers,” informs the organizers of the festival “Rīgas Ritmi”.
This Thursday, July 1, the musically rich program will be offered by the experienced Latvian jazz pianist Viktors Ritovs together with the association “Riga Jazz Allstars”. It unites musicians who have been the basis of the group accompanying the jazz artists’ competition “Riga Jazz Stage” for many years: drummer Artis Orubs, double bassist Andris Grunte, guitarist Kaspars Vizulis, trombonist Laura Rozenberga and trumpet player Oskars Ozoliņš. They will also be joined by the young and talented vocalist Paula Saija, who sings both jazz standards and unheard versions of Raimonds Pauls’ songs.
On July 2, Lithuanian modern jazz masters “Shinkarenko Jazz 4N” together with the colorful singer Ned will perform at the music house “Daile”. “Shinkarenko Jazz 4N” is a quartet conducted by Leonid Shinkarenko, which offers “gritty”, electro-acoustic original music, in which the bass and drums play a big role, but unusual musical accents are created by the sound of two saxophones.
On July 3, pianist Kristaps Vanadziņš will present a special program with the participation of Ieva Kerēvica, the owner of a strong voice. As you know, she has won several vocal competitions, including the international jazz competition “Sony Jazz Stage”, she also composes songs herself. Kristaps Vanadziņš ‘trio unites connoisseurs of jazz music, whose compositions include unusually harmonious solutions and creative novelties – bassist Jānis Rubiks and drummer Rūdolfs Dankfelds, as well as, of course, Kristaps Vanadziņš himself. It should be noted that the trio vinyl record “The Love Garden Has Overgrown” has just been released.
