Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia– Covid-19 cases in Indonesia have not shown signs of abating with the addition of new cases reaching 20,000 in the last few days. This condition is worrying amid the increasingly full hospital conditions in several areas, and the increasing number of high risk zones (red zones).
On Wednesday (30/6/2021) until 12:00 WIB, the Ministry of Health recorded the number of new cases as many as 21,807 people. With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia has reached 2.178 million. This addition is again a record high after Sunday (26/6/2021) as much as 21,095
In the midst of this spike in cases, the good news is that 10,807 people have recovered from this disease. With this, the total recovered patients reached 1.880 million people.
The addition of new cases also contributes to an increase in active cases or people who need treatment. Today the active cases increased to a total of 239,368 people.
Meanwhile, the number of people who died from Covid-19 increased by 467 people, bringing the total to 58,491 people.
The number of positive cases was obtained from the examination of 142,731 specimens, with 130,443 suspected cases.
In the last week of June 23-29 2021, the number of new cases of Covid-19 jumped to 138,352 people. This means that every day there are nearly 20,000 new cases and patients who have to receive treatment. Meanwhile, during this period there were 2,748 deaths.
In the midst of this surge, the hospital occupancy rate continues to increase, especially in several areas. Currently, the average hospital occupancy rate for Covid-19 nationally is 74%. However, there are five provinces with BOR above 80%, namely DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, DI Yogyakarta, and Central Java.
