In group A2, which also includes South Korea, Lithuania defeated Venezuela with 76:65 (11:10, 25:18, 19:16, 21:21).
The most productive for Lithuania with 20 points and 11 rebounds was Jons Valančūns. Mants Kalnietis and Domants Sabonis, who also had eight rebounds, but Roks Gedraitis scored ten points.
Venezuela’s top scorer with 11 points was David Kubiljan.
In the second group in Kaunas, Poland beat Angola by 83:64 (24:19, 19:12, 19:14, 21:19).
Mateusz Ponitka scored 22 points for the winners, and Janiks Moreira stood out for the losers with 27 points and seven rebounds.
Slovenia is also in this group.
In Belgrade, Serbia defeated the Dominican Republic by 94:76 (31:23, 16:24, 20:19, 27:10).
The home team scored 18 points and ten rebounds on Boban Marjanovich’s account, while the opponents scored 16 points each, Michael Kuevas and Viktors Liss, who also had nine rebounds.
The group also includes the Philippines.
Italy and Puerto Rico will meet in the second group, in which Senegal was forced to withdraw due to Covid-19 illness.
In the Croatian city of Split, Germany beat Mexico with 82:76 (19:22, 21:20, 22:25, 20: 9).
The winners Yoshiko Cebu scored 17 points, the opponents 30 points, seven rebounds and six assists on the Francisco Cross.
The group also includes Russia.
In the second group, Brazil beat Tunisia by 83:57 (21:21, 22:10, 21:15, 19:11).
Vitor Benite scored 15 points for the Brazilians and 13 points for the opponents in the Usama Marnaui account.
This group also has a hostess Croatia.
Finally, in the Canadian city of Victoria, Greece will meet with Canada (the group also includes China), while Uruguay will meet with Turkey (the group also includes the Czech Republic).
The Tokyo Olympics will feature four national teams that have won their qualifiers. The group tournament games will run until July 2, but the semi-finals and finals will be held in the next two days.
Olympic qualifying tournaments will take place from June 29 to July 4.
Argentina, Australia, France, Iran, Nigeria, Spain, the United States and host Japan have already qualified for the Tokyo Olympics.
