That’s what sports site The Athletic learned on Tuesday. Contacted by Montreal radio station 91.9 Sports, the 47-year-old pilot confirmed that he was talking to the “Yotes”, without giving further details.

Tourigny has a contract with Hockey Canada. Last March, he initialed a one-year agreement with the organization. He is supposed to be stationed in four international tournaments, including the next Olympics. In addition, he must act as head instructor at the 2022 World Championship and at the World Juniors of the same year. He was also one of the assistants at the 2021 World Championship in Riga, where the maple leaf won the gold medal.

The Nicolet native is also the head coach of the Ottawa 67’s in the Ontario Junior Hockey League. During his career, he has also been at the helm of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies and the Halifax Mooseheads.

Tourigny has experience behind the bench of an NHL team. He was assistant to Patrick Roy with the Colorado Avalanche (2013-2015) and Dave Cameron with the Ottawa Senators (2015-2016).
