Support for cultural event organizers affected by the Covid-19 crisis will be available for a longer period / Day

The updated support program will continue until 31 December this year, and funding for its implementation will not exceed EUR 2,132,861. Funding will be awarded after the evaluation of the applications submitted for each round of the target program.

80% refund of tickets will be made in the following cases:

  • for measures canceled before 1 July 2021, tickets for which were on sale until 15 June 2021;
  • for event tickets returned by visitors before 31 August 2021, which were on sale until 15 June 2021, and events take place with changed conditions, if the person is unable to attend due to the established restrictions or changed conditions;
  • for tickets returned by visitors, purchased before 31 December 2021 for an event that takes place, but the person and their accompanying person cannot attend it due to a positive Covid-19 test result.

In order to ensure that the organizer of the event will only be reimbursed for tickets returned due to restrictions due to unrestricted visitors, the organizer will be required to provide an overview of the total number of event visitors, the number of tickets reimbursed and the number of tickets resold when applying for support.

The aim of the program is to support cultural event organizers who were forced to cancel the announced public cultural events due to Covid-19 restrictions imposed by the state during the state of emergency declared by the Cabinet of Ministers and also after the ban on organizing public events.

Even now, public events are subject to restrictions – they can only be attended by people who have been completely vaccinated against Covid-19, people who have contracted Covid-19 or people who have tested negative for Covid-19.

Many event organizers have postponed the events planned last year to the summer of this year, but given the epidemiological situation, it is unpredictable whether everyone who has previously purchased tickets to public events or who purchased a ticket at a time when there were no known restrictions will be able to attend. individuals will be able to attend events. Therefore, it is necessary to continue providing the started support for ticket compensation until the end of the year.

The revised support mechanism must be agreed with the European Commission before the support is granted.
