About Retirement, Valentino Rossi Must See The Reality: Okezone Sports

BRESCIA – Legend MotoGP, Giacomo Agostini, suggests Valentino Rossi (Petronas Yamaha SRT) to see the reality before deciding to continue his racing career. According to Agostini, Rossi has full rights over his own future.

Rossi slumped in the last few seasons. The Doctor-Rosi’s nickname- is not a racer who competes for the world title like he used to.

Rossi even struggled to win the race. Rossi last won at the Assen Circuit, the Netherlands, in 2017. After that, Rossi often finished behind.

Rossi’s slump is increasingly visible in MotoGP 2021. Rossi has only collected 17 points so he is stranded in 19th position in the standings.

Most recently, Rossi fell at the seventh corner on the seventh lap in the 2021 Dutch MotoGP race at the Assen Circuit, last Sunday 27 June. The poor result confirms the end of the Italian’s career is getting closer.

Rossi’s appearance made many people advise him to retire. They considered the 42-year-old racer could not compete with the young drivers.

However, Agostini did not want to join in lecturing Rossi. According to the Italian, his compatriot does not need advice from anyone because Rossi understands his own condition best.

“Some asked me to tell Rossi to retire, but I couldn’t do it. I’m sad that Valentino didn’t win, but I can’t tell him anything, because it’s a personal choice,” Agostini said. Tuttomotoriweb, Tuesday (29/6/2021).

“I respect him and I don’t want to be his teacher, his teacher or his father. Valentino’s father (Graziano Rossi) said he had to race for another three or four years, but I’m not his father and I didn’t tell him anything.

“I don’t like seeing him like this. Because Valentino (Rossi) has been spectacular over the years. Everyone admired him because he gave joy. As long as there is life, there is hope, they say. However, reality is what it is,” said Agostini.
