Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – Representatives of clubs and discos in the southwest criticize the new Corona regulation as a “slap in the face” for club operators. “While all other industries are now exposed to generous easing, the nightlife will continue to be massively restricted and de facto prevented,” writes the Baden-Württemberg Club Culture Interest Group in a letter published on Monday to Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens), his state government and the parliamentary groups. “With the previous regulation one shifts the partying into the uncontrolled illegal / private area and shows great mistrust towards an entire branch.”

According to the new regulation, discos and clubs are allowed to open with an incidence of less than ten with one person per ten square meters. If the incidence is over ten, discos and clubs will remain closed in the future. For most clubs, the ten-square-meter rule means events with ten to 20 people – which is “by no means economically viable”.

The interest group was founded in January to give the scene a higher profile in politics and the public. According to the association, a total of more than 120 players from around 20 cities have joined.
