Otherwise, the Swiss kept the opponent from a start, even the active Mbappe, and they knew how to really heat up the world champions. They managed to do it in the 15th minute, when after a simple action and the center opened the score to Lengleta Seferovič with his head in the penalty area.
Rabiot made a superb strike after 28 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors’ defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner. After half an hour, Embolo ended up in a jump, but he didn’t hit the ball perfectly.
The Swiss controlled the course and the French were unable to put them under the expected pressure, and they had to be wary of counterattacks.
The beginning of the second half also turned out better for the Swiss. In the 50th minute, Embolo penetrated into the penalty area and Seferovič missed his center in front of an empty goal. The match opened attractively and one interesting situation after another followed.
VAR got into the action, which confirmed the foul after Undermining Zuber in the penalty area by Pavard. Rodriguez got a chance to level the score as Lloris suddenly found himself free with only the ‘keeper to beat, but the finishing shot hit the bar. Switzerland paid for it in a few minutes.
Mbappe came close to extending the visitors’ lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle, but he lifted the ball over Griezmann – Mbappe – Benzema and it was a little too high and hit the bar. In a difficult situation, he prepared the ball well on his heels and equalized 1: 1.
That was not all, the world champions made a great turn for the next two minutes. Griezmann’s fine footwork caused nothing but headaches for Sommer. The keeper wasn’t fooled however, and confidently scooped up the ball.
In ten minutes he scored almost his own Widmer goal, his small home did not find Sommer’s head, fortunately for the Swiss he went outside the goal area. The French moved into the opponent’s half and in the 75th minute Pogba scored one of the most pleasing goals of the tournament with a short strike from the right hand behind the penalty area into the upper left corner.
The Swiss bloc was no longer so aggressive and compact and allowed the opponent to dominate. However, the Swiss did not lie down and in the 81st minute, after a great center, Mbabua reduced Seferovič with his second goal. After 85 minutes, Gavranovič switched Gavranovič with, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.

In the 109th minute, after Coman’s return pass from the first, Mbappe missed and a minute after the vertical of Pogbu, the same player hit the side net with a left chance.
In the 114th minute Giroudov attempt flew next to and in the 119th minute the head of the same player was effectively caught by Sommer. The decision was made only in the shot from 11 m, in which the Swiss had stronger nerves and won it 5: 4.
