After a long cultural dry spell, the Gleibergverein and the Kunst- und Kulturkreis (KuKuK) Wettenberg are looking forward to the coming months: The cultural program for Gleiberg Castle is as wide-ranging as usual.
The cultural program at Gleiberg Castle can begin. Now that the incidence figures are declining and the pandemic is being eased, the board of the Gleibergverein is in good spirits that artists can present themselves there again in late summer.
Italo sound and dancing tin
Together with treasurer Karlfried Philipp, Gerhard Schmidt, the 2nd chairman of the Gleibergverein, has been preparing a wide variety of events for years. The KuKuK (Kunst- und Kulturkreis Wettenberg) with Barbara Yeo-Emde and Dieterich Emde is just as reliable a partner as the Central Hesse Cultural Summer with Managing Director Frank Dauer. Dr. Jutta Failing and her partner, Peter Meilinger, with their guest and costume tours, are an integral part of the cultural offerings at the castle
The performance of “The Frog King” with the Tinko Theater will take place on Friday, July 30th, 2:30 pm, under the leadership of the Wettenberg youth care organization, together with the municipal children’s and youth offices in Biebertal and Heuchelheim. In the evening, from 8 p.m. onwards, it will be “We’re playing”. The bassist Peter Herrmann (Lollar) presents “With The Beatles – New Interpretations” together with Dago Schelin (Marburg) and Moritz Weissinger (Wettenberg). Afterwards Nick Ramshaw and Chris Umbach play under the title “Rocket Man Meets Piano Man” – music by Elton John and Billy Joel.
On Sunday, August 1st, there will be music from Senegal with Fallou Sy and the groups »Domou Afrika« and »Afro-Kunda« from 7 p.m. on the Africa evening, for which District Administrator Anita Schneider has taken over the patronage.
On Friday, September 3rd, at 7.30 pm, »Summer Dreams at Gleiberg Castle« will continue with musicians from different genres. Visitors can look forward to the singers Fabienne Exler and Merle Gudjons (piano accompaniment: Colenton Freeman), the harpist Svanja Clausen, the singers Gabriele Riedl and Barbara Yeo-Emde (piano accompaniment: Hermann Wilhelmi) and the singer Ingi Fett with Nick Ramshaw. Dr. Jürgen Leib (Gleibergverein) with anecdotes from the castle’s history.
The next day, from 7.30 p.m., the Italian attitude towards life will spread within the historic castle walls, thanks to »Ombre di Luci«, the cult Italo quintet from Osnabrück. The partner for this evening is the German-Italian Society of Central Hesse
Sunday, September 5th, listen to the classical sounds from 5 p.m. A nine-piece wind ensemble plays under the motto »Blechdanzt«. The program provides an entertaining variety of musical styles. Sounds from the Renaissance, Romanticism and modern times will be heard. On Sunday, September 12th, there will be a jazz concert with the stable sound jazz band on the »Open Monument Day« from 11 a.m. On Friday, September 10th, from 7.30 p.m., Nora Schmidt and her band can be heard.
