CHICAGO, Illinois.- A new mass shooting left one dead and 10 injured in southwest Chicago. The incident occurred a little before 11:00 last night in the 6300 block of South Artesian Street, in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

According to the police, four unknown men who came out of a nearby alley shot at a group of six men and five women, causing various injuries. One of the women was shot in the chest and later died at the University of Chicago Hospital.

The rest of the injured are in stable to serious condition in different hospitals in the city.

This was one of several shootings that occurred overnight in Chicgo. Another incident left five men injured and a woman killed in the 2000 block of East 71st Street in the South Shore neighborhood.

Meanwhile, in the Pullman neighborhood, a 24-year-old man was declared dead early Monday after being found unconscious in a vehicle in the 11700 block of South Laflin Street. The man had multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.

In most cases the police have not yet had anyone in custody.
