It didn’t rest much Arkane Austin after the release of the 2017 Prey, but the studio isn’t working alone on a Left 4 Dead-style vampire.
A Redfallt, which will therefore build on cooperative gameplay, a Microsoft and was presented at Bethesda’s joint E3 performance and was certainly seriously announced from scratch, with a 2022 release period. Thus, we can rightly assume that Redfall has been on the operating table for a relatively long time, and it is. As with the Guerrilla Games and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (this pair was the other day), LinkedIn has knocked it all down.
Here we must mention Francisco Cruz III profile. He’s one of the artists responsible for the environment at Arkane Austin, and Timur222 (who finds interesting around Microsoft several times) discoveredthat a few months after the release of Prey: Mooncrash (it was in June 2018!) they were already seen for Redfall. So by 2022 (say, Microsoft will launch at the end of the year), the game will have a four-year development cycle. And that doesn’t sound bad, but they started the concept after the Prey was released, which means five years.
But Arkane also got an Austin partner, because it is id Software also working at Redfall! (Since Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods Part 2 has been out for a couple of months now, they’re so to speak,…) profile we can find out, and since he’s one of the animation men of the id (who, moreover, has openly indicated that he now works at Redfall), the connection between the two studios is certain.
Redfall has become one of the games where Microsoft’s entry has eliminated the previous multiplatform concept (Playfield’s 5 transcript was definitely planned for Starfield as well), so only Xbox Series and the PC will receive in 2022. It is still questionable how lasting the end result will be.
