Six were killed in a tornado that struck several cities in the South Moravian region of southeastern Bohemia on Thursday. A two-year-old girl died in a hospital in Brno, TASS reported, citing Czech Radio.

Condolences to the child’s parents were expressed by Czech President Milos Zeman and Prime Minister Andrej Babis.
The material damage from the disaster in the South Moravian region will be no less than 12 billion kroner (about 471 million euros), local authorities said. 1200 residential buildings were damaged, over 70 of which are not subject to restoration and will be demolished.
CNN reported earlier that the tornado in the Czech Republic was the most destructive in Europe since 2001.
