SOLO, KOMPAS.TV – An early warning for extreme weather has been issued by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) for today, Monday (28/6/2021).
There are at least 30 regions in Indonesia that will experience extreme weather ranging from light to heavy rain, including lightning and strong winds.
Launching the BMKG website, the areas experiencing extreme weather include 24 areas that have the potential to experience heavy rain which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds.
Among them are Aceh, West Sumatra, Riau, Bengkulu, Jambi, and Central Java (Central Java).
Meanwhile, six other areas are expected to receive rain which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds.

This extreme weather is influenced by the convergence area/wind speed slowdown (convergence) which is observed extending from the western waters of Aceh to the northern part of the Malacca Strait.
