Once again, concerns for the future of North Mayenne Hospital Center mobilized the inhabitants. They were over 2,000 ce Saturday 26 June 2021 in Mayenne to say no to the destruction of their hospital. All of North Mayenne was represented.
Nursing staff, elected officials, and citizens denounced the reciprocal engagement contract desired by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) which would involve the closure of orthopedic and trauma surgery from December 2021, visceral surgery in 2022 and surveillance continues in Mayenne. The activity would be postponed to the Laval hospital.

Chantal, a former hospital employee for 38 years, came to support her former colleagues. “The CHNM has its place in the landscape. The problem is the lack of doctors. We used to say that they didn’t come because there was nothing for the families. But Covid has been there, and people are fleeing the cities. We have a card to play. Above all, we have a great working tool. This is not the case for all hospitals. This contract is a mess. “
Christophe himself came out of solidarity. “I saw the construction of the new hospital. It is a great investment. I have the impression that because this construction costs, we will have to lay off staff. I am worried about all of North Mayenne. The situation can also rub off on the Laval hospital, which will not be able to absorb everything. “
