The city of Saint John is devastated by recent news of the discovery of 751 unmarked graves at a former residential school near Regina. As a community, we continue to mourn with Indigenous communities and our country. On June 25, 2021, the flags of all municipal facilities will be half-masted.
The City of Saint John will join other communities across Canada in taking a break in solidarity on Canada Day. We encourage everyone to view this period as a pivotal moment in our history, and as a time to reflect – as individuals, as a community and as a nation – on our past and on the path we can take for a future. better future.
