The Biron Groupe Santé company wants to be part of the solution for the implementation of electronic health passports allowing travelers to provide the authorities of the country visited with information on their state of health. This formula could also be applied during events or activities.

“We know that the ‘digitization’ of health care courses is beginning”, indicates to the Journal Annie Cornellier, director of project management and operations at Biron. “It’s used for travel and events,” she continues.
Currently, two apps offer ePassports to people, CommonPass (The Commons Project) and Travel Pass (IATA).
“In the United States, there are already concerts for people who have been vaccinated. In some cases, officials will use this type of passport to legitimize the results, ”says Ms. Cornellier.
Air France
In recent days, the airline Air France announced the launch in Quebec of a pilot project to digitize screening results for COVID-19 for its routes between Montreal and Paris.
This project, which is scheduled until July 15, is being done in collaboration with Biron. It is on a voluntary basis that travelers at Montréal-Trudeau airport are invited to test the IATA Travel Pass application for free.
Biron’s role is to carry out tests on travelers and transmit the results to their account on the application.
This solution allows users to “check the entry conditions imposed by countries” and to receive and record “the results of their COVID-19 test from a laboratory” in the same place.
For the time being, screening tests are being carried out at the Biron facilities at Montreal-Trudeau airport. However, you have to make an appointment. For people over the age of 11 who have not been vaccinated or who have only received one dose, the PCR test can be performed on the day of departure.
Air France ensures that the data collected relating to health will not be transmitted and that they will remain stored in the application.
