Something is happening behind Manuel Neuer. FC Bayern is probably swapping the substitutes behind its regular goalkeeper. There is also a return.

According to information from the German press agency, Bayern Munich’s goalkeeper Alexander Nübel is in front of a loan to the French first division soccer club AS Monaco. Accordingly, the 24-year-old should complete his medical check this Friday and sign a loan agreement for two years. Previously, “Sport1”, Sky Sport News HD and “Kicker” had reported on the upcoming deal, among others.
In the third of Ligue 1, Nübel would train under former Bayern coach Niko Kovac and become a teammate of national player Kevin Volland.
In the summer of 2020, Nübel moved free of charge from FC Schalke 04 to the German record champions in Munich. He should be built up as the successor to national player Manuel Neuer in the long term. In the past season he only played one Bundesliga and one cup. He also played twice in the Champions League. Nübel would like to get more match practice and therefore preferred a loan. He still has a contract in Munich until June 30, 2025.
Ulreich for Nübel
As the second man behind Neuer, Ulreich should come back to FCB. According to “Kicker”, the briefly clubless goalkeeper reached an agreement with the club for an initial season. The mandatory medical check is still pending.
Ulreich (32) was the goalkeeper for the German record champions between 2015 and 2020 before he switched to Hamburger SV in the 2nd Bundesliga before last season. There he terminated his contract prematurely after the missed promotion.
A move from Bielefeld goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, who contributed to the relegation of Ostwestfalen with a strong season, to the Munich team is off the table, according to Kicker. The 28-year-old was “too expensive with a fixed transfer fee of five million euros,” it said.
