The police still can’t believe it. A woman was taken care of Thursday, June 24, 2021 in the afternoon by the emergency services while she bathed in a fountain in downtown Dijon in which she had dumped more than 47,000 euros in banknotes.
The facts took place in a fountain in the Place de la République, in the city center of Dijon, in the Cote d’Or. The police of the department indicated that this woman, originating in Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle) was bathing in the middle of small cuts.
She was brought to safety and hospitalized at the city hospital.

Denominations of 10, 20, 50 and 100 euros
National and municipal police officers were responsible for emptying the fountain and then collecting the money found in the form of denominations of 10, 20, 50 and 100 euros.
According to The Public Good, this woman from Lorraine is psychologically fragile. According to AFP, the police intervened to prevent passers-by from trying to retrieve the tickets.
Banknotes, sucked into the water system, came out in another fountain in the square.
Investigators do not know for the moment the motivation for the gesture of this fragile fifty-something and the source of the money.
