This Wednesday’s match between Portugal and France, in Budapest, was the most watched broadcast in Portugal since the final of Euro-2016, also between the two teams.
The game, which ended in a draw 2-2 and guaranteed the qualification of both teams to the round of 16, accounted for 69.3% of RTP’s share, which translated into 3 million 461 thousand spectators. The final of the Euro-2016 had 77.4% share and 3 million 733 thousand spectators.
However, the meeting reached more than 5.1 million Portuguese – in the contact criterion for at least one minute, and in the most watched minute (21:54h, roughly the end of the game), the RTP1 audience was 4 million and 54 thousand viewers.
The game against Germany, the previous one, was the second most watched in the Euro, with an average audience of 2.6 million, followed by Hungary-Portugal, with 2.2 million.
In France, this was also the group’s most watched game: it attracted 15.59 million viewers to the TF1 channel (57.6 share) with a peak of 17.3 million. 15.1 million saw France-Germany and 12.2 million watched Hungary-France.
