So, who is prone to coronary heart disease?
Reporting from detik.com, Dr. Taufik Pohan SpJp, a heart specialist at Pondok Indah Hospital, said those who have a family history of coronary heart disease have a higher risk.
“People who have a family history of coronary heart disease have twice the risk. Especially if the person concerned is an elderly man,” he explained at a press conference on New Advanced Technology DSCT Flash RS Pondok Indah, Jl Metro Duta Pondok Indah, Jakarta, Friday (9/5/2014).
Not only that, coronary heart disease is also very vulnerable to attack women who have entered menopause. In fact, they are also susceptible to complications.
“If you are over 30 years old, don’t forget to do early detection, one of which is through a CT scan to see if there is a blockage in the coronary arteries,” added Dr. Taufik.
He further said that coronary heart disease is also very vulnerable to attack a smoker. The percentage of probability is much higher, which is 2-3 times.
“If you smoke up to 40 cigarettes a day, the risk will be ten times, so from now on stop smoking,” he said. (trj/may)
