entertainment">Van Nieuwkerk’s management has confirmed this. Riemsma is editor-in-chief of the regional newspaper De Twentsche Courant Tubantia, a position the BNNVARA icon held at the Parool in the late 1990s.

entertainment">Born in Veenwouden (Friesland), in his forties, he is divorced and has two sons. Van Nieuwkerk also has two children with his ex: son Kees and daughter Jet. The latter, who is known for her cookbooks, gave birth to her son Frenkie last fall.

entertainment">Van Nieuwkerk gave his word to Van Munster in 1986, but in 2007 the two broke up briefly. “I have caused my parents, children and wife a lot of grief,” said Van Nieuwkerk in WELL.
