Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Price of folding bike Brompton in the past few months prices have decreased, with the value of the decline being unreasonable. However, bicycle traders and importers say the current new price is the normal price before the saleeBrompton bikes appeared some time ago.
“Now adjusting, the goods are available, the new price is around Rp. 36 million. In fact, importers who are not distributors can sell prices below Rp. 36 million,” said Chairman of the Indonesian Bicycle Entrepreneurs Association (Apsindo) Eko Wibowo Utomo to CNBC Indonesia some time ago.
When demand is not as big as a few months ago, the impact is stock is abundant. So the price tends to go down.
For example, the price of Brompton M6L Raw Lacquer a few months ago had reached Rp 41 million, but now the price is in the range of Rp 37 million. Likewise with the M6R BE Color from Rp 43 million to Rp 39 million. Meanwhile, the M6R BE Lacquer, which was originally around Rp. 46 million, is now back at Rp. 42 million.
The type of Brompton bicycle that had touched the figure of more than Rp. 50 million was the M6L Flame Lacquer at Rp. 53.2 million, although the normal price was at Rp. 38 million. Then there was another M6R Flame Lacquer which had touched Rp. 54.6 million, although the normal price was Rp. 39 million.
Looking back, the price of Brompton bicycles had soared during the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic until the end of last year. Because of the laws of economics, the price increase is also not kidding, it can increase almost double the original price.
“Brompton prices are not normal, demand is high, supply is stagnating, so the price was above Rp 50 million at that time, all Rp 45 million and above, whereas normally it is Rp 30 million more,” said Eko.
