A strong storm that reached winds of 35 kilometers per hour, hit the Magic Town of Múzquiz, during the night of Monday and early this Tuesday, leaving at least twelve houses flooded and the fall of a huge tree that damaged the wiring of the CFE.
Municipal Civil Protection authorities promptly responded to calls for help made by dozens of families, who saw how the water entered their homes, without being able to do anything to prevent it.
Víctor Guajardo Loo, director of Civil Protection, reported that eight of the homes are located in different sectors of Múzquiz and 3 of them are in Mineral de Palaú.
He added that during this morning the water continued to enter some homes that are located in low-lying areas of the city and that each time there is this type of storm with rainfall of up to three inches of water, they suffer damage.
He highlighted that during the early morning the call of four homes flooded by the strong storm and the report of the fallen tree were answered.
This Tuesday they continued to help remove the water from more homes in which the water that emerged from places where it was stagnant was still entering and was still looking for its natural course, all from runoff that goes from the city to the lower parts
He said that some of them reported damage to homes in the La Placita neighborhood; in the La Ford neighborhood, a tree fell and damaged the CFE wiring; In the Infonavit Reforma neighborhood and in the El Panteón neighborhood, floods were also reported.
Víctor Guajardo Loo said this type of damage to homes occurs because they are located very close to natural tributaries, and others because the sewers were covered with garbage.
“The situation is unfortunate because most of these families lost beds, mattresses, refrigerators, air appliances and different domestic equipment, due to the large amount of water that flooded their homes and they will continue working for the rest of the day, waiting to receive more calls for help, ”said Víctor Guajardo Loo, director of Civil Protection in Múzquiz.
